A Coriolis flow meter is a device that measures the flow rate of a fluid using the Coriolis effect. The Coriolis effect is a force that acts on a moving object when the object is located in a rotating coordinate system.
The operating principle of a Coriolis flow meter is based on the Law of Conservation of Mass. The Law of Conservation of Mass states that the total mass of a closed system remains constant. In the case of a Coriolis flow meter, the closed system is the fluid being measured.
When a fluid passes through a Coriolis flow meter, it is split into two streams that flow in opposite directions. These streams are subjected to a force field that causes a Coriolis force on the fluids. The Coriolis force causes the fluids to curve, forming two loops.

Its unique self-draining single-tube system enables precise measurement of liquids and gases at the lowest flow rates and high pressures. Operating principle is independent of fluid physical properties such as density or viscosity.
