Air Brake Spring Brake Modulating Valve - Foot Valve
The Air Brake Spring Brake Modulating Valve is a specific component used in compressed air brake systems, which is part of the parking brakes of heavy vehicles such as trucks and buses.
In these vehicles, in addition to the main compressed air brake system (operated by the brake pedal), there is also a parking brake system that is spring-actuated, independently of the compressed air system. These springs apply force to the brake linings, pressing them against the brake drums to keep the vehicle immobilized when parked.
The Spring Brake Modulating Valve's function is to control the activation and deactivation of the parking brake (spring brake). When the driver applies the parking brake, compressed air is released from the system, allowing the brake springs to apply the necessary force to immobilize the vehicle.
When the driver wants to disengage the parking brake, the Spring Brake Modulating Valve is activated to allow compressed air to act on the system again, compressing the springs and releasing the pressure of the brake linings from the drums, allowing the vehicle to move.
