A tachometer (or tachograph) is a device that measures the rotational speed of a rotating shaft, usually expressed in revolutions per minute (RPM). The term "tachometer" is a combination of the words "tacho" (referring to speed) and "meter" (meaning measure).
The tachometer plays an important role in monitoring and controlling rotational speed in various contexts, contributing to the safety, efficiency, and proper maintenance of motors and rotating equipment.
M 900/T Tachometers/Indicators are used to measure RPM, M/Min, Km/H, Sheets/Min, Sheets/Hour, analog variables,............etc. They receive signals from encoders, inductive sensors, photoelectric sensors, dry contacts, Namur, magnetic pick-ups, 0-5Vdc, 0-10Vdc, 0-20mA, 4-20mA,.....etc.
Using 1 Pulse/Revolution sensors (e.g., Inductive), they can measure RPM, M/Min, Sheets/Min, etc., updating the display with each pulse passage (for M/Min or Km/H, it is necessary to provide the diameter of the pulley where the speed will be indicated, or upon request, an adjustment via keyboard on the front panel (only 06-digit display) for a correction factor can be provided). They have an input to receive 1 Pulse/Revolution or a frequency input where the number of pulses is counted in 1 second and displayed, being used with 60 Pulses/Revolution Encoders or Magnetic Pick-ups with 11, 60 or more teeth gears. They can have 04 (999.9 or 9999) or 06 (99999.9 or 999999) digits in a red display, have power for sensors, and connection via screw terminals for conductor fastening. The M 900/T Tachometer has optional ANALOG OUTPUT of 0-5 Vdc, 0-10 Vdc, 0-20 mA or 4-20 mA (e.g.: 0-500/0-10 Vdc) which can be used with a 1 pulse/revolution signal input, and also HOLD to freeze the reading on the display (Equipped with rear terminals for switching and consequent freezing of the reading, application example: freezing the reading when a grinding wheel breaks).
