An interface relay, also known as a coupling relay or control interface relay, is an electrical device used to provide electrical isolation and protection between two separate electrical circuits. It acts as a kind of switch controlled by a low-voltage electrical signal, allowing one circuit to control or influence another without a direct connection between them.

The CR-U048DC3 pluggable interface relay is a universal relay and is also commonly referred to as an ice cube relay. CR-U relays can be plugged into CR-U sockets, and this relay and socket combination can be easily mounted on a DIN rail. CR-U relays have robust, circular pin terminals designed and manufactured to handle tough, repetitive-use applications and are more durable than standard relays. This relay operates with a rated control supply voltage of 48 V DC and has a 3 c/o (SPDT) supply voltage with contacts rated at 250 V / 10 A, allowing for the possibility of switching multiple circuits with a single input signal. The relay has an integrated test button that is used for manual actuation of the relay by locking its output contacts. The test button facilitates testing and commissioning. The relay also has an integrated LED, which provides visual indication of the relay coil energization. Standard sockets, logic sockets, plug-in functional modules, holders, and markers are available as accessories.
