The regulator body is made of stainless steel and has a 1/4" NPT inlet connection and a 1/4" NPT outlet connection. The diaphragm is made of a flexible membrane that is pressed by the force of the spring. The spring adjusts the outlet pressure of the regulator. The outlet valve opens when the fluid pressure at the regulator inlet exceeds the regulator outlet pressure. The filter is located between the regulator body and the outlet valve. It removes impurities from the fluid before it flows to the regulator outlet.
The regulator is operated by a direct-acting spring. When the fluid pressure at the regulator inlet exceeds the regulator outlet pressure, the spring is compressed, and the outlet valve opens. Fluid flows from the regulator inlet to the outlet until the pressure at the regulator outlet equals the pressure at the regulator inlet.
