A digital valve positioner is an advanced version of a device used in industrial control systems to adjust the position of control valves. The main difference from conventional positioners is that digital ones operate using digital signals instead of analog signals. They offer greater precision, digital communication capability, and often advanced automation functionalities.
The PD HART digital positioner, through digital communication, uses the HART protocol and receives an input signal, controlling the supply pressure to the control valve actuator, providing precise positioning of its stem.
The product can be configured via the HART protocol through local adjustment with a magnetic key, or remotely, using the HPC401 configurator based on Palm OS.
Configuration tools include auto-tuning with automatic performance and actuator stroke procedure, flow characterization, and valve response time. Mounting can be done on any model of globe and rotary type actuators, single and double acting.
