A fuse holder, also known as a fuse block or blade holder, is a device used to house and protect one or more electrical fuses. It is designed to safely accommodate fuses and allow for their replacement when necessary.
The main function of a fuse holder is to provide a safe place for the installation of fuses in an electrical circuit. The fuse, in turn, is a protective device designed to blow or break in case of overcurrent or short circuit, interrupting the flow of electrical current and protecting connected components and equipment.
When using a fuse holder, the fuse is inserted into the corresponding holder and connected to the electrical terminals of the circuit. If an overcurrent or short circuit occurs, the fuse is the component that will "blow" or break, interrupting the electrical current and preventing damage to equipment and the circuit itself.
