How it works:

Temperature sensor:

The monitor uses sensors such as thermocouples, thermistors, RTDs (Resistance Temperature Detectors) or semiconductors to detect temperature.

Signal processing:

The sensor sends a signal proportional to the detected temperature to the monitor's electronic circuit.

Display or control:

The monitor processes and displays the temperature on a digital or analog screen. In some cases, it can trigger alarms or equipment based on predefined limits.

Main functions:

Accurate temperature reading.

Continuous monitoring: Measures and displays temperature in real time.

Limit alarms: Emits alerts when the temperature exceeds or falls below a pre-established range.

Control: Can activate or deactivate systems (ventilation, heating, cooling) to maintain the desired temperature.

Data logging: Some models store measurements over time for later analysis (dataloggers).

TM2, applied as a complement to TM1, monitors the temperature of one or two additional windings.

It is equipped with:

o Configurable input for one 4-wire RTD sensor or up to two 3-wire RTD sensors for

user-selected temperature measurement (e.g., ambient, on-load tap changer

or others);

o Two load current measurement inputs, for calculating the temperatures of up to two

additional windings.

Main features:

- IEDs (Intelligent Electronic Devices) designed specifically for substation yard conditions

and suitable for integration into supervision or monitoring systems via RS-485 and RS-232 ports

(standard Modbus, optional DNP 3);

- DNP 3 protocol (optional) with support for 1ms Time-Stamp, capable of storing events, such

as: Alarms, Trips, Cooling Activation, etc., with 1ms resolution;

- Extended supportability meeting the most stringent tests performed by transformer manufacturers;

- Extended temperature measurement range, from -55 to 200 ºC;

- Inputs for Pt100W temperature sensors with self-calibration, ensuring high accuracy and

stability throughout the ambient temperature range;

- True-rms AC current measurement inputs, for direct connection of CT secondary (0 to 10 A, 48

to 62 Hz), or optionally, external window CT connection;

- Optional external CT, window type with separable core, avoiding direct connection of the bushing CT secondary

to the temperature monitor and reducing the risk of accidental opening of the secondary,

in addition to allowing installation with the transformer energized.

- High brightness LED displays for easy viewing;

- Calculation of the predicted final oil-winding temperature gradient for the current load;

- Two analog outputs on each monitor for remote temperature indications, with selection of the

variable and output range (0-1, 0-5, 0-10, 0-20 or 4-20mA);

- Cooling operation selectable via front keypad in Automatic or Manual mode. Automatic alternation

of forced cooling groups in pre-programmed stages, based on their operating times, providing

uniform use of fans and/or pumps;

- Optional Pre-cooling function to reduce insulation life loss in case of

high loads;

- Optional Cooling Exercise function to prevent fan and pump failures;

- Self-diagnosis: two microcontrollers with reciprocal supervision for internal fault detection

or sensor faults;
