The AL-3202 module is a 32-point, relay-based, microprocessor-controlled digital output interface, whose main feature is to implement "check before operate" functionality, being used with AL-2002, AL-2003 and AL-2004 CPUs.
The "check before operate" (or CBO) is a logic that allows predicting defects in output circuits by monitoring them before actual operation. CBO is required in power generation/distribution equipment to achieve greater reliability.
The CBO AL-3202 digital output interface monitors its outputs to:
.Ensure that the selected output is actually activated before activation (CBO).
.Ensure that outputs are not activated when not selected.
The CBO AL-3202 digital output module supports "hot-swapping" of both the control board and the relays. The outputs are isolated and independent (dry contacts).
The CBO AL-3202 digital output interface is divided into two modules: the control module that fits into the CPU rack and the output module that is attached to the electrical cabinet and connects directly to the field wiring, eliminating the need for additional terminal blocks.
Maximum switching voltage:
- 138 Vdc or 253 Vac
- disables outputs when the CPU enters an error state
- disables octet outputs when the module detects a HW error
- 1000 Operations per hour (under nominal load, each output)
- 100,000 operations (under nominal load, each output)
- 5 Vdc for the control module
- 24 Vdc (+25% - 10%) for the output module
