The Allen-Bradley 1771-IAD Series D module is a modular component in the Allen-Bradley 1771 I/O system that requires a properly installed system rack. Proper installation includes protecting the module from electrostatic damage when handling it. The 1771-IAD can operate with all Allen-Bradley chassis except for the 1771 A1, 1771 A2, and the 1771 A4. Ensure that no single card block transfer or any other input module is placed in the same module group when using 2-slot addressing. Any other discrete output module can be used in the same group.
The 1771-IAD Series D module is equipped with an adjustable delay time jumper. This delay time can be applicable to all 16 channels, and operators can use it to select between input delays for the channels. To detect general input readings, there is a 5ms delay, and to prevent false inputs in the case of high-noise environments, the delay tolerance is up to 20ms. These delays will need to be adjusted by users because the module is shipped with a set delay time of 5ms. To adjust it to 20ms, users need to locate the delay time jumper selection plug, which can be found on the upper right end of the 1771-IAD module. Users can slide the jumper to 20ms with their fingers.
