The IC697RCM711 is a redundancy communication module designed for the GE Fanuc 90-70 series. The IC697RCM711 is a single-slot module with five LEDs that indicate the status of the board and the system. The module is designed to provide a path for a synchronization message from the active unit to the backup unit. The IC697RCM711 module is also the route for transferring shared I/O data between both units. There are two connectors, one located at the top of the module and one at the bottom. The top connector is used to connect the upstream BTM or BRM, and the bottom connector is not used. The IC697RCM711 module requires 0.7 amps of current and is configured using MS-DOS software. The module features a high-speed parallel bus interface and supports configurations that are built with a Hot CPU redundancy system.
