When the MicroSwitch is in its normal position, the movable contact is not in contact with the fixed contact, meaning the circuit is open, and electrical current does not flow. However, when the button or lever of the MicroSwitch is pressed, the movable contact makes contact with the fixed contact, closing the circuit and allowing electrical current to flow.
