A motor protection circuit breaker is an electrical protection device used to protect electric motors against overloads and short circuits. It is designed to interrupt the electrical power supply to a motor under abnormal conditions that could cause damage to the motor or pose risks to the electrical system.
MPW motor protection circuit breakers are the compact solution for starting and protecting electric motors up to 100 A. They have a high breaking capacity, allowing their use even in installations with a high level of short-circuit current. They ensure total protection for the electrical circuit and the motor through their thermal trip units (adjustable for overload protection and equipped with a differential mechanism with phase failure sensitivity) and magnetic trip units (calibrated for short-circuit protection).
They are available in versions with push-button operation (MPW12/18) or rotary operation (MPW40/80/100) and trip indication (only for rotary handle), allowing the operator to view the circuit breaker status. The circuit breakers can be locked in the "off" position with a padlock, thus ensuring safety during maintenance.
