Escontrol's CFP series paddle flow switches are
recommended for pipelines from 1" onwards, for both liquids
and gases. It is a very robust equipment with a simple mechanism,
requiring minimal maintenance.
It can indicate up to 2 distinct points. The process connection is
fully adaptable to the client's needs, being either
threaded from 1", NPT or BSP, or flanged ANSI, DIN or TC.
The constructive design also allows the application of a wide variety of
materials, such as stainless steel (AISI 304/316), special alloys
(Monel, Hastelloy, etc.), as well as plastic materials such as
polypropylene, PTFE, etc.
The Ex d IIC T6 Gb IP65/IP67 protection is provided by means of the
standard Escontrol enclosure model APE-116-ES, with TÜV 11.0109 X
certificate. It is a versatile box designed to be
adapted to a range of Escontrol's explosion-proof flow and level instruments.
Its first certification dates back to 1989, a pioneering and time-proven design.
The operating principle of CFP-E flow switches is simple: basically,
the movement of the flow through the pipeline displaces the paddle, which in turn moves a
magnetic assembly that actuates a microswitch or a reed switch. Thus, the flow's movement
actuates a switch that indicates the presence of flow in the process. It is important to note that
the fluid is completely isolated from the electrical part by AISI 316 stainless steel, which can withstand up to
The adjustment of the CFP-E is done through the paddle profile, dimensioned for the
specified piping, the useful length must at least exceed the center line of the
process piping. Fine adjustment can be made by changing the position of the control block
inside the enclosure. It is configured by default to be as sensitive as possible,
only indicating whether or not there is flow in the pipeline.
Flow switches can be installed in horizontal or vertical pipelines
(in this case, it must be requested) for upward or downward flow.
Important: For electrical installation in classified areas, NBR-IEC 60079-14:2009 must be followed,
and for equipment repair, NBR-IEC 60079-19:2010.
