A tripping coil, also known as an actuation coil or excitation coil, is an electrical component used in electromechanical devices, such as relays and contactors, to generate a magnetic field that actuates switching mechanisms.
The tripping coil is typically made of conductive wire wound around a magnetic core, such as iron or other ferromagnetic materials. When an electric current is applied to the coil, it generates a magnetic field around it, which in turn exerts a force on the movable components of the device, such as the contacts of a relay or contactor.
AA1-24 Shunt Trip 20-24V
AA1 shunt trips enable manual motor starters to be remotely tripped. They are attached laterally to the left side of the MS116, MS132, or MS165. According to IEC 60947-1, the manual motor starter is switched off by the AA1 if the supply voltage of the shunt trip measured during the tripping operation remains between 70% and 110% of the rated control circuit supply voltage.
