The Diazed fuse base, also known as a Diazed base, is a component used in electrical overcurrent protection systems. These bases are designed to accommodate Diazed fuses, which are low-voltage fuses frequently used in industrial and residential electrical installations in Europe.
The Diazed base is a fundamental part of the Diazed electrical protection system. It consists of a ceramic base or similar insulating material, with a holder for the Diazed fuse. Diazed fuses are designed to fit perfectly into these bases, ensuring a secure and protected connection against electrical overcurrents.
The main objective of a Diazed system is to protect electrical circuits against overloads and short circuits. When an electrical current exceeds the nominal value of the Diazed fuse, the fuse melts, interrupting the current and protecting the electrical devices and wires in the circuit. The Diazed base is designed to withstand these conditions and hold the fuse in place until it needs to be replaced after an overcurrent event.
